So if we buy good players cheaply that's bad is it?

Yes, undewhelmed since the Payet/Ogbonna signings. Was expecting one more big signing.

Re: Anybody else totally underwhelmed with our transfer activity since Ogbonna?
Started well but totally stalled now. No sign of a new striker. Still in need of a wide player and Alex fucking Song (who should have been signed up 2 months ago)

Re: Anybody else totally underwhelmed with our transfer activity since Ogbonna?
How could we not be underwhelmed after those 3 signings?

We stole Obiang from under the noses of Milan at a snip under £5m.

We signed the player that created the most chances in Europe over the last few seasons.

We then signed a centre-back from Juventus reportedly beating Everton and Southampton to his signature.

It was always gonna be downhill after that unless they pulled Hernandez out of their hat. Not meant to be it seems.

Completely underwhelmed.

Par for the course though isn't it, so shouldn't be surprised.

Re: Anybody else totally underwhelmed with our transfer activity since Ogbonna?
Started well, particularly not appearing to overspend as NSD highlighted. To me though that's another reason why I've been disappointed since then. With the amount of money sloshing around, and having got some in for Downing, we really should have spent more. Hopefully they will pull a couple out of the bag soon, as we don't look to have the quality required yet. I think they've done well signing players for the future too, but we need experienced quality now.

Started with Darren Randolph didn't it ? Now there's a signing.

They signed a number of quality players or would you rather they hadn't signed them and given them a pre season under their belts and signed them all at the end of the window to make it a bit more exciting for you?

Re: Anybody else totally underwhelmed with our transfer activity since Ogbonna?
I don't think anybody is suggesting that. Do you?

Look - be grateful.

Gold will tell you on 31st not to go to bed or you will miss the signing of our most sought after player ....

Step forward Carlton

Re: Anybody else totally underwhelmed with our transfer activity since Ogbonna?
They may well have signed a number of quality players, but is the squad stronger ? marginally maybe. We need more, but I certainly am not buliding my hopes up.

Re: Anybody else totally underwhelmed with our transfer activity since Ogbonna?
I was rather hoping that by now we would have come to a deal with Song/Barcelona or Halilovic

It's obvious that we need at least one quality stiker in, possibly two

I don't mind being patient but some of the players we have latterly been linked with are poor quality or ageing

That is very worrying

Re: Anybody else totally underwhelmed with our transfer activity since Ogbonna?
Why do we seem to think that we should slunk all our money? That's a ridiculous plan. If we signed the best players in the world all on free transfers the downies on here would still complain we didn't spend any money.

So you're not happy with payet obiang and ogbonna?

A sign of how much has changed in the last few years!
